Ed Davis is stepping up for the Toronto Raptors right now

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Friday 21 January 2011 at 8:11 pm

21-year old rookie power forward Ed Davis is stepping up his game as of late. In his last four games, Davis is averaging 26.3 minutes, 9.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.3 blocked shots on 66.7% shooting from the floor! He has now played in 25 games (2 starts) for the Raptors so far this year and he is averaging 21.1 minutes, 6.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 1.1 blocked shots per game. Davis is hitting 56.2% of his shots so far this year but only 57.5% from the free throw line. Look for Davis to start seeing a bigger bump in P.T. if he can keep playing like he is right now.

DeMar DeRozan is starting out 2011 very hot for the Toronto Raptors

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 10 January 2011 at 10:14 am

21-year old shooting guard DeMar DeRozan has played in 5 games so far in 2011 and he is averaging 37.4 minutes, 21.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocked shot per game. DeRozan has now played in 37 games (all starts) for the Raptors so far this year and he is averaging 32.8 minutes, 14.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. DeRozan is really stepping up his game and he’s giving the Raptors a solid second option on offense behind Andrea Bargnani. The Raptors need DeRozan to keep up the good work because they have to outscore teams to win because their defense is pretty poor.

Jose Calderon is stepping up for the Toronto Raptors

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Thursday 6 January 2011 at 12:13 pm

29-year old point guard Jose Calderon missed a couple of games due to injury but he’s back with a vengeance. In his last three games, Calderon has averaged 36.7 minutes, 12.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 12.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He has now played in 29 games (16 starts) for the Raptors so far this year and he is averaging 27.9 minutes, 10.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game. The Raptors need Calderon to stay healthy if they are going to play well as he is a pure pass-first type of point guard and he keeps everyone involved in the offense.

Linas Kleiza is suddenly hot again for the Toronto Raptors

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 28 December 2010 at 8:30 pm

25-year old forward Linas Kleiza is getting super hot for the Raptors as of late. In his last four games, Kleiza is averaging 39.8 minutes, 20.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Kleiza has now played in 28 games (12 starts) for the Raptors so far this year and he is averaging 25.2 minutes, 11.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. The Raptors should just give Kleiza big minutes because as least he can help out the team offensively unlike some of the other forwards on the team.

DeMar DeRozan is playing solid ball for the Toronto Raptors

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Monday 13 December 2010 at 7:29 pm

21-year old shooting guard DeMar DeRozan is showing improvement so far this year. As a rookie last season, DeRozan played in 77 games (65 starts) in which he averaged 21.6 minutes, 8.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. This season though he has been given more playing time and shots. DeRozan has played in 24 games (all starts) for the Raptors so far this year and he is averaging 31.2 minutes, 12.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. The Raptors would probably like DeRozan to shoot even more than he is right now.
