The Raptors have signed 36-year old point guard Anthony Carter. Carter played in 33 games (0 starts) for the Knicks & Nuggets last year and he averaged 14.0 minutes, 3.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He has now played in 599 games (181 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 20.0 minutes, 4.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. Carter will be the #3 point guard behind Jose Calderon and Jerryd Bayless this year.

The Raptors have signed 26-year old small forward Gary Forbes to a 3-year deal. Forbes played in 63 games (11 starts) as a rookie for the Nuggets last season and he averaged 12.6 minutes, 5.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. The Raptors are paying Forbes triple of what the Nuggets offered, so they must have big plans for him. Look for Forbes to battle James Johnson for the starting small forward job in training camp.

The Raptors have signed 26-year old center Aaron Gray to a 1-year deal. Gray played in 41 games (6 starts) for the Hornets last year and he averaged 13.0 minutes, 3.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. He has now played in 190 games (25 starts) in his NBA career so far and he is averaging 11.4 minutes, 3.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. Gray should be able to give the Raptors some solid minutes off the bench at center in 2011-12.

The Raptors have signed 32-year old SG/SF Rasual Butler to a 1-year deal. Butler played in 47 games (2 starts) for the Clippers & Bulls last year and he averaged 16.4 minutes, 4.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. He has now played in 604 games (249 starts) in his NBA career and he is averaging 19.8 minutes, 7.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Butler should be able to give the Raptors some offensive help off the bench in 2011-12.
