DeMar DeRozan (20 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist) and Leandro Barbosa (18 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists) also had solid games for the Raptors last night. Jose Calderon pitched in with 13 points, 1 rebound and 8 assists in this game. The Raptors are now 20-54 on the year.
The Raptors tried like heck to deal starting point guard Jose Calderon last summer but they didn’t find any takers. They are lucky they didn’t because Calderon has been solid for them this year. He has played in 66 games (53 starts) for the Raptors so far this year and he is averaging 31.0 minutes, 9.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Calderon keeps all of his teammates involved in the offense, but the Raptors might be a little better if he were a tad more selfish with the basketball because he is a good shooter.
The Raptors were up 73-66 heading into the 4th quarter before blowing this game last night as they were outscored 28-17 in the final stanza. Ed Davis (21 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal) and Jose Calderon (16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal) led the way for the Raptors last night. James Johnson and Leandro Barbosa also pitched in last night for the Raptors with 14 points apiece. The Raptors are now 20-53 on the year.
The Raptors were outrebounded 40-34 and they let the Warriors shoot a scorching 61.4% from the floor and that’s the reason for the blowout loss. James Johnson also had a decent game as he filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots. The Raptors are now 20-52 on the year.
