Linas Kleiza is suddenly hot again for the Toronto Raptors

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Tuesday 28 December 2010 at 8:30 pm

25-year old forward Linas Kleiza is getting super hot for the Raptors as of late. In his last four games, Kleiza is averaging 39.8 minutes, 20.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Kleiza has now played in 28 games (12 starts) for the Raptors so far this year and he is averaging 25.2 minutes, 11.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. The Raptors should just give Kleiza big minutes because as least he can help out the team offensively unlike some of the other forwards on the team.

The Grizzlies shot 50.7% from the floor last night and that really hurt the Raptors. Linas Kleiza led the way for the Raptors last night with 22 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 blocked shot. DeMar DeRozan had anothre decent game for the Raptors last night with 18 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Jose Calderon was efficient in this game with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals. Leandro Barbosa (11 points) and Joey Dorsey (10 points) also pitched in offensively for the Raptors last night. The Raptors are now 10-20 on the year.

The Raptors didn’t play any D in this game as the Pistons shot 51.1% from the floor and that did them in. Leandro Barbosa led the way for the Raptors in this game with 21 points, 1 rebound and 4 assists in 25 minutes on the floor. Linas Kleiza also had a solid game tonight with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Andrea Bargnani only shot 6 of 17 from the floor but he still finished up with 16 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Ed Davis and DeMar DeRozan pitched in with 10 points apiece in this game. The Raptors are now 10-19 on the season.

The Toronto Raptors have not used their rookies much so far this year

Blogged under General, Bloglockers, Rookie Reports, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 22 December 2010 at 11:20 pm

21-year old power forward Ed Davis got off to a late start this year but he is trying to make up for lost time. Davis has played in 11 games (2 starts) for the Raptors so far this year and he is averaging 18.8 minutes, 4.7 points, 5.6 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Davis is only shooting 40% from the floor so far this year but I look for that to come up because most of his shots are going to come from in close. 22-year old center Solomon Alabi has only played in 2 games (0 starts) so far this year and he is averaging 3.0 minutes per game. He has yet to score and he has 1 rebound so far. Look for the Raptors to take it slow with Alabi.
