The Toronto Raptors sign forward Maceo Baston
The Raptors have signed forward Maceo Baston to a 2-year, $3.8 million dollar contract. He played in 47 games (2 starts) for the Pacers last season and he averaged 8.6 minutes, 2.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. He shot 64.5% from the floor, 42.9% from three point range and 78.7% from the free throw line.
Baston only has two years of experience in the NBA and he never has really been given much of a chance to show what he can do. Baston has played in 63 games (2 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 8.1 minutes, 2.8 rebounds, 1.5 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. He has shot 63.4% from the floor, 42.9% from three point range and 79.7% from the free throw line. The Raptors got a good deal in signing Baston as he appears to have a lot of ability and the Raptors will give him enough minutes to let him show what he can do.

He is going to be huge.
I will check back when the season starts, and if there is more updates on a regular basis I will put a link on my Raptor blog… www.powerof15.blogspot.com
hey there Raptors fans. i’m a celtics fan from canada and i just want to say that your signing is terrible, are you serious? we sign james posey and you counter with this guy? keep up the euro flake ball, you’re going to get walloped all year long by the c’s and there’s nothing you can do about it. time to relegate yourselves to battling it out for 8th because there’s no way you’re getting ahead of new jersey and remember this guy right here said that the bucks will have a better record this season. get out the salami and cheese because your hopes of ever becoming relevant are done.
i mean we counter with this guy, i don’t know why i’m explaining myself to the irrelevant though
James Posey was signed way after Baston. He also will make twice as much money per season. The Celtics better hope that none of their big three get hurt or their season will go right in the tank.
the celt’s may finish better than the raps, but i think the bulls are the team to beat.
anyway baston “fits” into the raptor, wide open style of play and that’s why he was signed. won’t play minutes anyway
Good points RCA. I think the Raptors can win this division again as they are a better “team” than the Celtics. I would worry more about the Nets.
