Chris Bosh was outstanding last season for the Toronto Raptors

Blogged under Bloglockers, Steppin Up, Front Page by alleyoop on Wednesday 30 May 2007 at 9:19 am

Chris Bosh improved on his career averages across the board as he had the best season of his young career.  In 69 games last season, Bosh averaged 38.5 minutes, 22.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 blocks per game.  Bosh’s shooting also improved as he nailed 49.6% of his shots from the floor, 34.3% from the three-point line and 78.5% from the free throw line.

Bosh’s career numbers improved across the board due to his fine play of last year.  In 295 career NBA games, Bosh has averaged 37.1 minutes, 18.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game.  Bosh has hit 48.5% of his shots from the floor, 27.8% of his three pointers and 77.5% from the free throw line.  Look for Bosh’s career numbers to continue to improve as he’s just scratching the surface of his potential.

New Jersey Nets 98, Toronto Raptors 97

The Raptors played tough all night long but they collapsed in the final 10 seconds last night and that’s why their season has ended.  The Raptors were also outrebounded 40-30 and that also helped doom them in the end.  Chris Bosh led the way for the Raptors with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 steals.  T.J. Ford was outstanding with 19 points and 3 rebounds in only 15 minutes on the court.  Andrea Bargnani was really active with 17 points and 7 rebounds.  Jose Calderon got the start at point guard and he did a decent job with 14 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.  Anthony Parker also had a decent game with 12 points and 3 rebounds.  So the Raptors lose the series to the Nets 4-2 but this season was a huge success as the Raptors have laid the groundwork for a bright future.

Toronto Raptors 98, New Jersey Nets 96

The Raptors raced out to a 33-13 lead after one quarter but T.J. Ford was elbowed in the mouth by the “evil” Vince Carter and that ended Ford’s game after only 7 minutes (3 points).  So it was up to Jose Calderon to run the show the rest of the night and he had the best game of his career as he willed the Raptors to victory.  In 38 minutes on the court, Calderon scored 25 points, grabbed 2 rebounds and dished out 8 assists.  Andrea Bargnani got the start and he had a solid game with 18 points and 4 rebounds.  Anthony Parker also had a good game with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.  Morris Peterson got a rare start and he responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds.  Chris Bosh had a poor game as he only shot 3 of 11 from the floor and he finished with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.  The Raptors stayed alive and now hold a 3-2 edge on the Nets in this series.
