Fred Jones to miss time for the Raptors

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Injuries by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 21 February 2007 at 4:58 pm

The Raptors will be without Fred Jones indefinately with a dislocated finger.  He has been a huge disappointment for the Raptors this season as he’s only averaging 7.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.  He also has only shot 38.7% from the field this season.  They will need more from him when he returns later in the season.

The Raptors had an outstanding first half to the season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 20 February 2007 at 12:29 pm

The Raptors finished the first half of the season with a 29-24 record.  They are in first place in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference and it appears that the New Jersey Nets are about to raise the white flag soon on their season as they continue to talk of trading Jason Kidd/Vince Carter.  The Raptors are only 4 games behind the Detroit Pistons for the best record in the Eastern Conference and that also looks like it could be attainable as long as the Raptors keep rolling.  All the Raptors need to do in the second half is keep their stars (Chris Bosh & T.J. Ford) healthy and they will have at least one home court series in the playoffs and maybe more.

The Raptors shot 58.9% from the floor and that’s why they won last night.  Chris Bosh led the way with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.  Morris Peterson also had a solid game with 18 points and 7 rebounds.  T.J. Ford did a good job of directing the offense with 17 points and 8 assists.

The Raptors nip the Bulls 112-111 in Chicago

The Raptors shot great last night as they hit 53.9% of their shots and that’s the real reason they won last night.  Chris Bosh led the way for the Raptors with 25 points and 14 rebounds.  Andrea Bargnani also had a good game off the bench with 22 points and 3 rebounds.

The Raptors lose a tough one 98-92 to the Pistons in Detroit

Blogged under Bloglockers, Game Recaps, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Sunday 11 February 2007 at 2:11 pm

The Raptors didn’t play much defense (the Pistons hit 50% from the floor) and the Pistons outrebounded them 42-34!  Hard to win that way.  T.J. Ford led the way with 17 points, 3 rebounds and 11 assists.  Andrea Bargnani had a solid game with 15 points and 3 rebounds.

The Raptors fell to 27-24 on the season with this loss.  http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=270210008
